More than 700 cases of H3N2 influenza were registered in public health facilities Salta, so health authorities indicated that was developing in the province, "an outbreak" of disease, although there were no deaths from this cause.
"It seems that these days we are experiencing an outbreak of influenza A H3N2 virus, already identified by the laboratories of the Institute Malbran national reference," said Alberto Gentile, epidemiology coordinator of the province, according to the newspaper today published the Tribune Salta.
Health authorities in the province believed that would have made a figure higher than those detected, since there were 689 patients, treated with the antiviral oseltamivir in public health centers, which means that these are patients who have confirmed the presence the virus.
Meanwhile, some details remained to relieve health areas in the provinces, and that there had been no patients who were not treated, nor those who attended private clinics that did not give their reports to the authorities. "Although all respiratory infections are notifiable, private services are reluctant to report. It was always like," admitted Gentile.

Gentile said that this is not an exceptional event that is causing the outbreak this spring because "they behave like viruses."
"Every so often breaks out in the spring, we even had one in 2004 in summer", said the official.
Applied in the province this year more than 200 000 shots, most of H1N1.
In that sense, Gentile said that any subtype of influenza vaccine protects against disease.
