More than three-quarters of physicians (78%) surveyed by the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) criticizes the manner in which the public was informed on influenza A/H1N1 in 2009. A communication is insufficient and contradictory at times disturbed them in their work. These are the results of a survey on the management of the pandemic FOPH published today.

Over a quarter (28.6%) of emergency doctors also claimed that the distribution of vaccines has been complicated, delayed and heterogeneous. 21.3% think that the media have dramatized the situation out of proportion.

The doctors felt "fairly well" informed about the flu virus, with a satisfaction rate of 6.1 out of 10. Many emergency room doctors (69%) would have hoped, however, a special number which could respond to questions about the management of the pandemic.
