H1N1 Outbreak in Saskatchewan
20 cases confirmed in southeastern portion of province

The second wave of H1N1 is hitting southeastern Saskatchewan.
Most cases are mild so far but health care workers have been warning all summer that the fall version of the swine flu virus would be much tougher.
20 people in the Sun Country Health Region are confirmed to have the swine flu virus. There could be a lot more cases that are so far undetected because schools are reporting large numbers of absent students.
Estevan Comprehensive High School says 80 kids are staying home because of flu-like symptoms.
10 schools in the area say about 10 per cent of kids are missing classes.
The H1N1 vaccine will be ready for the general population of Saskatchewan by mid-November. Health care workers can get the shot next week, followed by people at high risk. They include pregnant women, children five years of age and younger, the First Nations community and those with underlying medical conditions.
Everyone is being urged to get the H1N1 flu-shot. So far, five people in Saskatchewan have died from the virus.
