Doctor down with swine flu (Punjab)

Dr Vipan Kansal, radiologist, has been tested positive for swine flu and is currently undergoing treatment at the local civil hospital.

Dr Kansal, who runs a scan centre of his own, had been down with fever for the past seven days. He was tested positive for swine flu yesterday and was immediately administered preventive medicines. Secretary of the local unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Dr Vinod Sud said though Dr Kansal was stable, but if his condition deteriorates he might be taken to the PGI, Chandigarh.

Three docs found positive for swine flu in Maharashtra

Parbhani (Maha), Feb 24 (PTI) Three doctors of Parbhani civil hospital were detected positive for H1NI virus today.

Civil surgeon Dr R B Kulkarni said that they are recuperating in the hospital.

Dr Parmeshwar Salve, Dr Zafar Iqbal and Dr Subash Rathod were found suffering from swine flu, Kulkarni said, adding that swab samples of those who came in contact with these doctors have also been sent to National Institute for Virology (NIV), Pune for tests.

According to sources, the symptoms of swine flu were first found in Dr Salve. But it was not informed to anybody.

It is learnt that he was sent to Beed for some official work and might have been affected there.

Two other doctors, Rathod and Zafar also came into contact with Salve and might have caught the virus, the civil surgeon said. All the three doctors were attending on patients with swine flu symptoms.
