H1N1 flu reaches Vikasnagar, 5 of family affected

LUCKNOW: After killing two persons in Para and Alambagh areas of the city, swine flu hit five members of a family in Vikasnagar here on Thursday. A retired lance naik died of H1N1 on January 9, while wife of a retired jawan died on January 13.

Head of the family, Bilal Sayeed is a contractual employee at radiotherapy department of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute Of Medical Sciences. The man underwent testing for H1N1 at SGPGI and his swap samples tested positive. He got his 4-years-old son Abdullah examined for the same who also tested positive.

Alarmed over the situation, he got three other members of the family, Salma (65) Umme Habiba (26) and Saba (25) in tested at King George's Medical University and the microbiological assessment confirmed presence of swine flu virus.
