Three more Iowans have died from the H1N1 flu virus, officials reported Wednesday.
The state now has seen 30 deaths from the new virus. The three new cases were described as adults from Fremont, Polk and Union counties. All three had other health problems that made them particularly susceptible to complications, the Iowa Department of Public Health.
The outbreak of the new flu virus is waning in Iowa and across the nation, but it remains a danger, officials say.
All but one of the Iowa deaths have been among adults. Most of them reportedly had chronic health issues.
The victims? names, ages, genders and dates of death were not released.
