The Agency of health of the Bas-Saint -Laurent confirmed a first death caused by the virus H1N1. The health of the victim was already weakened and it had presented in the risk factors. The agency refused however to reveal his identity and age.

This would be the first death to occur in Quebec. Yesterday, the agency had confirmed that a twenty cases of H1N1 influenza virus had been reported in the Bas-Saint -Laurent region. The agency has also indicated that no mass immunization campaign such as the one which had been held in 2009, is for the time envisaged.
