كشف ل "الرياض" معالي وزير الصحة الدكتور حمد بن عبدالله المانع عن أن "الصحة" خصصت غرف عزل داخل مستشفيات منطقة الرياض لمتابعة أي مريض يشتبه في اصابته بفيروس انفلونزا الطيور كإجراء استباقي فيما لو -لا سمح الله- سجلت أي حالة.

وقال وزير الزراعة: "بعد ظهور المرض في بعض محافظات منطقة الرياض وتحديداً فور حدوث الإصابة الأولى بتاريخ 1428/11/2ه بمشروع أمهات دجاج لاحم بمحافظة الخرج، قامت الوزارة باتخاذ جميع الاجراءات اللازمة والاحتياطات الضرورية في حينها طبقاً لما جاء بخطة الطوارئ التي تم اعدادها مسبقاً لمواجهة مرض انفلونزا الطيور عالي الضراوة بالتنسيق معالجهات الأخرى ذات العلاقة حيث تم فرض حجر بيطري على مواقع الإصابة وإعدام جميع الطيور الموجودة بالمزرعة المصابة وجميع المشاريع الأخرى المجاورة لها في دائرة نصف قطرها خمسة كيلومترات والتخلص الصحي من الطيور النافقة والمعدمة وجميع متعلقاتها بالطرق الفنية السليمة وذلك للقضاء على الفيروس والحد من انتشاره خارج منطقة الإصابة وقد قامت الوزارة بإعدام أكثر من خمسة ملايين طير من الدواجن، وتم القيام بعمليات استقصاء وبائي حول منطقة الإصابة للتأكد من خلوها من المرض كما توالت تطبيق هذه الاجراءات مع ظهور الإصابات المتلاحقة".
