Swine flu situation in the state seems to be becoming increasingly worrisome. On Wednesday, 82 new cases of swine flu were reported in the state, the highest in a single day this year, taking the total number of cases to more than 1,000, even as three patients succumbed.

The state health department said that the three deaths were reported from Bhavnagar, Bharuch, and Kutch. The number of swine flu deaths in the state since January 1 increased to 50.

The department said that 27 cases were reported from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) limits, seven from Sabarkantha, and five each from Vadodara city and Amreli.

There seems to be no respite from swine flu. On Thursday, 80 more swine flu cases were reported in the state, while one patient died in Valsad. Separately, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation said that two patients succumbed in the city.The death toll because of swine flu since January 1, 2019, went up to 53 with these cases.

The state health department said that 80 new cases were confirmed on Thursday, taking the total number of swine flu cases in the state since January 1 to 1,117. Gujarat has reported the third highest number of cases after Rajasthan and Delhi.

In the last two days, 16 cases of swine flu and two resulting deaths have been reported. According to health officials, the number of positive cases due to seasonal influenza H1N1 will be reduced in two weeks.

Across the state, 53 fresh cases of H1N1 were reported on Wednesday, of which the highest were within AMC jurisdiction which were 12. So far, in 2019, the state has reported 1,516 cases and 58 deaths. Gujarat has reported the third-highest number of swine flu cases in the country after Rajasthan (2,941) and Delhi (1,669).

Swine flu cases in the state zeroed in on 2,000 with 94 more cases coming to light on Sunday, even as two more patients succumbed to the H1N1 virus.

The state health department said that 94 seasonal flu cases were confirmed, taking the number of cases in the state since January 1, 2019, to 1,983. There has been a sharp spike in swine flu cases in the last five days.

Union health ministry data shows that Gujarat was ranked third in the country in swine flu cases after Rajasthan (3,508) and Delhi (2,278) as of Sunday. At 71, the death toll in Gujarat was the second highest after Rajasthan (127).

About 727 persons are undergoing treatment in various hospitals across the State. According to a Gujarat Health Department release, four persons died on Thursday, taking the toll to 79 while as many as 118 new cases were registered across the State.
?Since January 1, 1,497 people have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospitals in the State,? the release said.
?Gujarat is among the worst affected States due to higher number of cases and mortality,? a State government official said.

Swine flu death toll in the state rose to 82 on Friday with three patients succumbing to the H1N1 virus. The state government said that 108 swine flu cases were reported today, of which 31 were in Ahmedabad city, 14 in Surat city, and 13 in Vadodara city. Eight cases were reported from Sabarkantha, five from Amreli, and for from Junagadh.

Swine flu death toll in the state rose to 91 in the current season on Tuesday with three more patients succumbing to the H1N1 virus.

The state health department said in a release that 92 swine flu cases were reported in the state today. With these, the number of swine flu cases confirmed in the state since January 1, rose to 2,818.

The release said that 32 swine flu cases were reported in Ahmedabad city. With this, the number of cases in the city rose to 857, of which 644 have been reported in February alone.

Swine flu toll in the state rose to 93 on Wednesday with two more patients succumbing to the H1N1 virus.

The state health department said in a release that two seasonal flu patients had died during treatment today. However, it did not specify the places the patients belonged to.

It also said that 96 fresh swine flu cases were reported in the state today, taking the number of cases since January 1 to 2,914.
