Increased to four the number of people killed by influenza A (H1N1) in Guatemala

The deaths by the influenza A (H1N1) increased to four in a public hospital in Guatemala, after the death of two other people, said this Tuesday to the AFP an official source. 'We have to date four cases' of deaths by A(H1N1) in the state in the Roosevelt Hospital west of the Guatemalan capital, said Gustavo Barillas, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health. According to the official, the first fatalities that were recorded in 2013 by the disease occurred last Friday in the health care center and the other two deaths were reported for the weekend.

'There are three men and a woman, all adults. Three obese and one that I had HIV with tuberculosis', explained Barillas, and noted that maintains the 'restricted' visit to the areas of intensive observation of the hospital and to prevent new infections. Barillas has ruled out the death of a fifth victim by influenza A (H1N1) after performing an analysis to the deceased person who was suspected he had contracted the disease.
