By rci 01/11/2022 - 04:33

5,300 new positive cases have been recorded since Friday (January 7, 2022). 10-19 year olds and 20-39 year olds represent 58% of these new cases.

The shift towards younger age groups is therefore confirmed. The rate of contamination among 0-9 year olds currently represents 6% of positive cases, up from 3% at the end of the previous week.

The positivity rate is 21% and the incidence rate is 2,894 / 100,000 inhabitants over the last 7 days. Omicron is now present in more than 95% of positive samples.

24 clusters are being monitored in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. 35 intensive care beds are maintained on the territory: 30 at the CHU and 5 at the CHBT, to which are added 13 critical care beds.

28 people (including 10 with Covid versus 4 on Friday) were being treated in acute resuscitation. Concerning patients hospitalized in the medical department for COVID: 17 were in the infectious diseases department of the CHU against 6 last week. 21 others are accommodated in the other departments (13 at the CHU and 8 at the CHBT).

The city medical regulation reports a significant increase in its activity. Emergency visits are increasing: the SAMU and firefighters have seen their calls for COVID doubled.

Remember that patients can join the RIPOSTE platform on 05 90 44 62 20 to be advised and referred to a health professional.

Since Monday, the curfew has been raised to 8 p.m., for an indefinite period. While knowing that the observation period announced last Wednesday and triggered Friday by the Prefect of the Region is scheduled to be spread over 3 weeks.
