Greg Rutherford, the British long jumper, has frozen a sample of his sperm ahead of this summer's Rio Olympics, over fears about the prevalence of the Zika virus, his girlfriend has disclosed.
Susie Verrill, with whom the reigning Olympic champion has a son, Milo, said that the couple had frozen a sperm sample as they wanted to have more children in the future, and were worried about the risks of Zika, which can cause birth defects in babies.
