People travelling to Greece have been warned to take care after it emerged that there has been a big surge in Covid cases there. The new FLiRT variant of the virus has led to a big increase in numbers infected.

In a new report the National Public Health Organization EODY said that from July 8 to 14, 2024 a total of 669 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospitals, indicating an upward trend. According to the latest epidemiological EODY report, 12 patients required ventilator support.

Among those intubated is a child younger than 9 years old. Twenty-six Covid-patients have died in the corresponding week. ...
