Note: Number of Deaths multiplied by 100 to fit them in the same graph. to get the real number of deaths, divide the value in the graph by 100.

Re: Graph: Combined Cumulative Worldwide Deaths & Cases from H1N1

Thanks for clarifying the graph. The trend in still up for both the number of H1N1 infections and H1N1 associated deaths.

Re: Graph: Combined Cumulative Worldwide Deaths & Cases from H1N1

This graph is live and will be updated every few days. Thanks

Re: Graph: Combined Cumulative Worldwide Deaths & Cases from H1N1

someone should count the cases only from countries that
still report all cases, i.e. those that are not in brackets
in wikipedia.
And then divide by the total population of these countries !

Or take only countries that reported all found cases
through the whole wave, e.g. Australia.

It could be done ... grasp the wiki-list automatically
once per day or per week and process it by computer,
excluding (bracketed) entries

Thanks moe121. Welcome to FluTrackers! :tiphat:

Re: Graph: Combined Cumulative Worldwide Deaths & Cases from H1N1

I note the slope of the line for 'deaths' is steeper than for infections beginning in July, and crossing the slope for infections in August. Does that suggest increasing virulence? Could Brazil be a player here?

Re: Graph: Combined Cumulative Worldwide Deaths & Cases from H1N1

Moe - Is it possible to re-graph to account for the 100X factor?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Google spreadsheets apparently don't have the graphing capability of multiple line graphs with different axes on the same chart.

Re: Graph: Combined Cumulative Worldwide Deaths & Cases from H1N1

I just did a little test with Excell. Scaling (x100) does not affect the slope of the line. If draw the graph without the scalling to show both data sets, we will still see a sharper slope in the deaths. Me thinks!

Re: Graph: Combined Cumulative Worldwide Deaths & Cases from H1N1

Here is the same graph using Excel. Keep in mind, Deaths chart and Cases Chart are two different things, and its a matter of where and how you plot the death chart on the cases chart, it can be squeezed or expanded, this is why i kept the top max value of the two scales proportional 100:1. I will try to publish and post the whole excel spread sheet later.
