Govt to import swine flu vaccines
LAHORE: The government will import 2 million vaccines of the swine flu virus, expected to reach Pakistan in January, Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Iqbal said on Thursday.
He was addressing a swine flu workshop for parliamentarians, organised by the University of Health Sciences (UHS) and the Pakistan Medical Society. Iqbal said the government was ready to cope with any challenge and the people should not worry. Punjab Health Director General Dr Aslam Chaudhry said there had been eight reported cases of H1N1 infection including two deaths in Punjab so far. He said all government hospitals were well equipped to detect swine flu and vaccines against tamilflu had also been provided. staff report
