I'd love some info on growing ginger. When I see what it entails and if I can do it, I'll need to find a source.
I have two possible places to grow it, on the northern CA coast with fairly mild climate and cool summers and inland with freezing winters to some degree (or greenhouse of a friend), but hot (100+ F) summers. The coast is fine here for horseraddish for whatever that's worth...
If anyone wants to contribute info on the benefits of ginger, please do. I want to try making some tonic (recipe dates from the 1918 pandemic) and ginger is an ingredient, but that should be another thread.
Anyway, I'd like to know how to grow if it's possible in my climate or in a friend's greenhouse.
