Cape Coast: 3 confirmed dead and 15 hospitalized in Cholera outbreak

Three persons have reportedly died as a result of a cholera outbreak in the Central regional capital Cape Coast.
Checks by Starr News? Central regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour revealed that the cases were recorded at the Ewim Polyclinic and Cape Coast metro hospital.
All the three deaths came from Abura, one of the suburbs of the cape coast metropolis.
Over a dozen cases of cholera are being handled by hospitals in the cape coast metropolis.
The Cape Coast metropolis was one of the areas worst hit by the disease in 2014. It recorded 2,182 cholera cases with over 20 deaths...

Cape Coast cholera outbreak: 36 cases confirmed
Health authorities have declared cholera outbreak in the Cape Coast metropolis in the Central Region as scores of residents have contracted the disease within a week.
Of the 54 cases reported at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Hospital within the week, a total of 36 have tested positive of the cholera bacterium, and authorities are on high alert to prevent further spread.

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that 157 cholera cases have been reported in the Central regional capital, Cape Coast.
Addressing the media in Accra on Wednesday, the Director of Public Health, Dr. Badu Sarkodie stated that despite the huge number of people infected, no death has been recorded since the outbreak on October 21.

Cape Coast cholera outbreak toll increases to 400
Health authorities in the Cape Coast are still battling with cholera cases even as they attempt to ban food vending on the campus of the University of Cape Coast.
Over 400 people have been affected by the outbreak since it broke about a month ago.
Richard Kwadwo Nyarko visited some of the health facilities in the metropolis and reports the situation is becoming alarming.
