Working group on influenza at the Robert Koch-Institute:
Weekly epidemiological report: week 10 (2010):
Excerpt in brief:NOTHING NEW !
In week 10 / 2010 (from March 06 to March 12/ March 16, 2010), the activity index of ?acute respiratory illness? remained stable on an only slightly increased level (year to year).
6 of 22 sentinel samples sent to the national reference center (at RKI) were positive for novel (pandemic) Influenza A subtype H1N1. At present, the ARI (acute respiratory illness) activity is not related to the (pandemic H1N1) influenza virus but probably to NON-influenza pathogenic agents.
Total number of confirmed cases: 225,975
Total number of fatal cases: 246
(data timestamp March 16, 2010)

RKI?s weekly reporting will be stopped now because the influenza?s winter season in Germany has come to its end. RKI will continuously update its data and graphs. Regular weekly reporting probably will start in week 40 / 2010.
