Discovered dead seagulls with bird flu
Wild birds from the district of Rostock have dangerous form of the virus. Experts want to monitor cases closely.

Rostock. Three dead black-headed gulls, found in Ziesendorf (district Rostock), a form of bird flu has been discovered. After a thorough examination of the animals, but the Ministry of Environment MV was able to give the all-clear. It would involve a low form, said spokesman Constantin Marquardt with on Friday afternoon. A danger to humans currently does not exist. Experts advise nevertheless to keep the cases in mind.
A few days ago it was announced that in Emsland (Lower Saxony) reigns a highly contagious form of bird flu. An operation with approximately 10,000 hens had to be closed, also another 10 000 animals had to be killed in a radius of one kilometer around the operation. Could that the dangerous virus in the shortest possible time and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern reach, is not likely, so Elke Reinking, a biologist and spokeswoman for the Friedrich Loeffler Institute on the island Riems near Greifswald. By immediate regulations the risk of the spread is greatly reduced.
