Germany - Current avian influenza cases - 2020/2021

The avian influenza virus continues to spread in Germany. At the turn of the year, the Friedrich Loeffler Institute (FLI) again confirmed cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the subtype H5N8 in Lower Saxony, Brandenburg and Saxony and Baden-W?rttemberg.

In the municipality of Garrel in the district of Cloppenburg, turkey husbandry with around 13,300 roosters and 13,300 hens that are around 9 weeks old were last affected (January 5, 2021) and, for the first time, fattening ducks with around 17,000 animals that are 35 days old . The killing of the livestock was ordered.
 
Avian flu outbreak - 25,000 animals affected
Bird flu broke out at a duck farm in Wittmund / Ardorf.
The stock was killed.
A restricted area and an observation area have been established around the farm.
This also includes the west of Jeverland.

HAMBURG (Reuters) - BhgAbout 20,000 turkeys will be slaughtered after bird flu was found on another poultry farm in Germany, authorities said on Friday.

Type H5N8 bird flu was confirmed in a farm in the Ludwigslust-Parchim area in the eastern state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, said the Ludwigslust-Parchim local government authority.
