Bocholt - A 15-month-old toddler from Bocholt has been infected with the EHEC-germ. When the child was the severe course of disease, the observed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), tells the health department of the district Borken. It is the first EHEC disease with severe course in the district of Borken.
According to the medical officer Dr. Gerhard Ettlinger Kreis Borken from the child last Friday, was transferred to the University Hospital of Muenster. This year there were five so far in the district of Borken EHEC cases so Ettlinger. Of these, four in the fall in Germany since May rampant epidemic HUS, was a 'normal' case earlier this year. The current case is based in Bocholt, however, the first in a circle, in which apparently was also a HUS disease, Ettlinger.
