Doctors at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta say they are seeing a major increase in respiratory infections and that Enterovirus EV-D68 is likely the reason.
"Since about the third week in August, which corresponds about to the time that children starting going back to school, we have seen 90 or 100 cases that we have documented per week." infectious disease expert Dr. Andi Shane told Atlanta Business Chronicle broadcast partner WXIA."We suspect that what we are seeing here is also Enterovirus 68."
Doctors typically treat about 15 or 20 children for respiratory viruses each week, WXIA reported...
