Certainly there are some individuals that are asymptomatic after infection with a novel virus. Also, even in naive population, a proportion of the population will not become infected from a novel virus. I am not sure that epidemiologists have reliable estimates on those percentages.. . . I am also wondering if it is true for all influenza outbreaks that 33% of the population does not show any symptoms (and therefore spreads the virus)?
Thank you for sharing this map. It appears a little different from the google maps. How often do you get the update. I would like to put a link on my website http://SwineH1N1.com as the google map is slow to load. Also, I'm looking for the AP feed to put onto the site and translate into 9 languages. Thanks in advance for your input.
