Three positive cases of the A(H1N1) influenza were registered in FYR Macedonia on Friday, bringing the total number of infected people to 13, Macedonia?s Health Minister, Bujar Osmani, said.
On Thursday, FYRMacedonia?s Health Institute confirmed the tenth case of swine flu.
The patients, hospitalized in Skopje?s Infectious Diseases Clinic, have been treated with Tamiflu and are in stabile condition, Osmani told a press conference.
As many as six patients with A-type influenza-like symptoms have been admitted to the clinic over the last 24 hours. All displayed symptoms of swine flu, including general exhaustion, a dry cough and high fever, after returning to FYRMacedonia from a trip abroad.
Twelve patients are currently receiving Tamiflu therapy.
A total of 42 patients suspected of having the virus have been treated at the Skopje Clinic for Infectious Diseases since the outbreak of the disease in FYRMacedonia.
Macedonian authorities are urging the public not to panic, stressing that so far all the reported and suspected cases of swine flU have been in patients who had arrived from abroad. No internal spread of the disease was noticed.Meanwhile, the airports and border crossings remain on a constant look-out for people with signs of swine flu symptoms.
