Third human H7N9 case confirmed in Xiamen

The third human H7N9 case was confirmed in Xiamen on Saturday afternoon, according to an announcement released by the Municipal Health Bureau.

The 35-year-old patient surnamed Lin is a chef and lives in mainland Tong?an District. The patient suffered from runny nose, fever and sore throat after he returned to Xiamen from Shanghai on 26th January. He had been engaged in live poultry slaughter and cooking before he was tested positive for H7N9 bird flu. He is now under intensive care at a hospital in Xiamen.
