Last Updated: Tue, 19 May 2009 16:18:00 +1000
The results for tests carried out on two of French Polynesia's suspected cases of swine flu have proved negative.

Last week a total of five high school students who had returned from an exchange program in San Francisco were quarantined after presenting with flu-like symptoms.

Following the return of the first tests, all students have now been cleared and will return to school on Tuesday.

According to the World Health Organisation, close to 9,000 cases of swine flu have now been detected in 39 countries.
