The Health Monitoring Institute (InVS) has forwarded that day the first assessment of the number of travelers who contracted Zika in an affected area and returned to city: 5 people since the beginning of the year showed symptoms. None of the patients presented severe form of the infection.
To recap, the Zika is not transmitted from person to person but only through an Aedes mosquito bite. Therefore, there is currently no risk of transmitting the virus Zika in France: we are not in the period of activity of Aedes mosquitoes, the virus vectors, between May and November.
