The Prefecture of Maine-et-Loire alerts on a suspected case of bird flu in a turkey farm in Chemill?-en-Anjou.
Due to symptoms observed on poultry, samples for the diagnosis of influenza were made Monday, February 5 in a farm of nearly 6,000 turkeys of the delegate town of Chemill?.

Infection with a low pathogenic H5 avian influenza virus is suspected.

In accordance with the regulations in case of suspicion, the following measures have been taken:
? The farm concerned is under surveillance, pending the results of the epidemiological survey by the national reference laboratory (ANSES Ploufragan);
? A surveillance perimeter is set up within a radius of 3 km around the farm. All movements of poultry, their products or effluents are prohibited in this area.
? The breeders and veterinarians concerned have been informed.
? An epidemiological survey and sampling will be carried out on farms around this perimeter.
