The proportion of positive taking away for the virus has (H1N1) 2009 carried out by the network of Grog is in increase (4 to 9% between weeks 40 and 41) because of the strong proportion observed in Ile-de-France. Estimates indicate that the H1N1 pandemic is "up."

And the pandemic is "the rise", according to estimates by Grog network (regional groups of bird observation), released on Wednesday.

The Grog H1N1 flu epidemic has been estimated that 993 thousand flu cases last week, against 812 thousand in the previous one. This "rising epidemic activity" was confirmed by doctors in the network Sentinelles-INSERM.

The last week were the most affected regions by the Sentinelles network-Alsace (1455 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants), Limousin (1.428), Languedoc-Roussillon (1.221), Champagne-Ardenne (1147), Rhone-Alpes (1119), Nord -Pas-de-Calais (1108), Franche-Comt? (1035), Pays-de-la-Loire (1031), Center (944), Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur (907), Corse (787) and Auvergne (731).

Of the cases reported by Dentinelles network (not taking into account that the pass colds with fever of 39), the hospitalization rate was 0.8%. Half of the hospitalized persons had less than four years and half of them who had been subject to serious problems were around ten years old. Hospitalizations among registered by the Sentinelles network include some causes that were for food or for being pregnant women. Others were for respiratory complications and complication rate for meningitis. Last week, influenza A (H1N1) 2009 has represented 55% of the 1'800 thousand cases of acute respiratory infections (ARI) during medical consultations, according to the Grog. The remaining 45% were due to influenza viruses do not, say the Grog. In addition, the number of cases of H1N1 influenza decreased again in Britain in the last week, although a total of 270 is still the country with more deaths from this virus, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) estimated in 22 thousand the number of new cases in the last week in England, less than half of all 46 thousand of the previous one.

Fatalities

- The H1N1 influenza virus killed at least 7.826 deaths worldwide since the start of the pandemic, most in the American continent, according to the latest tally from the World Health Organization (WHO).

- The number of deaths in the UK since the beginning of the pandemic is 270. Netherlands announced that for the first time in the country killed a man suffering a mutated H1N1 virus.

- The Directorate General of Health (DGS) from Portugal reported the death of a 22 years without risk factors, bringing to 23 the dead.
