A new bird flu outbreak has been detected in the Pyr?n?es-Atlantiques, bringing to five the number of departments affected by the epidemic since November in France, said today the Ministry of Agriculture. "In the Pyrenees-Atlantiques at Arroses an H5N9 outbreak was confirmed on December 11th 1500 in a breeding duck, "it said on its website. A total of 13 highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks in poultry have been detected in five departments of south-west France, seven in Dordogne, three in the Landes, in a Haute-Vienne, one in the Gers and in Pyrenees-Atlantiques.
