According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the 14th, a patient in his 30s who visited a medical institution on the 16th of last month due to symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, and nausea was confirmed to have Japanese encephalitis.

This patient is currently undergoing inpatient treatment for a state of decreased consciousness.

Epidemiologic investigation revealed that the patient had recently been bitten by mosquitoes while camping and had not been vaccinated against Japanese encephalitis.
