Two more heads of cattle have been found infected with foot-and-mouth disease in Hanoi, police in the Vietnamese capital said Wednesday adding measures are being taken to contain the epidemic.

The infection toll has now risen to 155 animals, all of them in Thanh Tri district.
The police and epidemic prevention department are working together to quickly stamp out the outbreak and have set up checkpoints among other measures.

In the central Quang Ngai province, authorities have been able to control outbreaks in 63 out of 110 sites where 7,443 animals have been infected. Vaccines shots have been given to 100,000 cattle.

In Hanoi, which is also battling bird flu, police in Hoang Mai district discovered on Tuesday and confiscated 3,000 unquarantined poultry eggs for further investigation.
