One was killed and 100 others were sick by food poisoning in a wedding reception Saturday in the central Philippines, local TV reported Monday.
The victims vomited and complained of diarrhea after eating foods served during the reception in Batuan town, Bohol province, GMA TV quoted responding health official as saying.
One of the victims died and 100 others were sick and hospitalized after the poisoning incident, according to the report.
Initial reports said some victims have been given medical attention and were already discharged from the hospital.
Authorities in the province have yet to release the result of their investigation, the TV said.
They still have not made public the identities of the victims, most of whom were residents of Sta. Cruz village in Batuan town.
Also in Bohol province, 27 students of San Jose Elementary School died while 60 others were hospitalized after eating a local delicacy called maruyang balanghoy (fried cassava) during break.
The children reportedly bought their snack from a vendor selling outside the school.
Health experts said some symptoms of food poisoning such as abdominal pains, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and fever can last for days, adding that germs may contaminate food through unsanitary handling of foods or kitchen utensils.
