Farmer,

Thanks for the Graph but whats even more telling/frightening is that even with the slowdown and/or slow shutdown of reporting deaths related to H1N1 the numbers have still increased over 300% in the last 14 days.

Yes, and with states like Utah going to weekly reporting, this "stair'step" pattern will be exaggerated even more.

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

Jim I had the same reaction looking at those photos, I feel guilty for counting them too. but I believe we have a moral obligation to track and share this information. maybe if the 15 people in those pictures had known what was happening in this country, they would have protected themselves, and they would still be alive today.

cutter, thanks again. I updated our Florida details with the name.

Yes, but I think if we add their names in our logs, as we've all seemed to be doing, we are taking the number away, somewhat. I posted photos I could find on a PFI thread, when I was up late one night. I mentioned that it was the folks whose photos I could find that kept me awake late, that night.

:applause: Very well done slide show. Thank you! -k

Readymom, sorry! I think I forgot to credit you in the original post I put up for the slideshow I made, but I saw the pictures you posted on PFI and I was so struck by them, my heart almost stopped :oem You inspired me with your compassion for the victims, and I started searching for more photos to show to FluTrackers members. I am still collecting them by the way.

I've got a great picture of Maria Monroe (Victoria County, TX) in her kitchen, apparently she really loved to bake and cook. She's wearing an apron and she's got this funny expression like "Don't you dare take a picture of me...." I think seeing their faces and recognizing them as individual people really helps me to cope with this thread. Lately I've been getting very down about it.

I've been feeling the same way and I've been getting a little worried since I have four sons ages 11 to 17.

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

Has there been any resolution of Jonathan Zamora, the 23 month old infant that was # 4 NYC before the PH officials took him off the list. The description his parents provided of his clinical course was almost identical to #5 NYC Bronx 11 week old child, Steven Montanez. Both had fever and cough, became cyanotic and died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

As far as I know this remains a mystery. None of the sites I monitor have heard any results of the final H1N1 tests, or the results of any autopsy, which almost certainly should have been done. His case seems to have simply vanished into thin air.

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

I just looked at the original article to refresh my memory, published 5/20/09 by the NY Daily News:

Swine Flu did not kill baby Jonathan Zamora, real cause of death unknown

His H1N1 nasal swab came back negative, and tissue samples were sent to a lab with a promise that results would be released "later that week". Jonathan's father says his child didn't present with other flu symptoms, which he knows because the doctor who looked at the baby told him. No one else in the family got sick with flu.

Pretty mysterious. Should we add Jonathan to the list as a suspected death?

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

added him to the suspect list, with possible confirmation to NY #17

Re: Links - Updated U.S. Death Counts

Did health officials ever report autopsy results from the death of Cody Scarborough of Las Crucis, NM who died back in April?

If not, should he be added to the suspected death list?

http://newmexicoindependent.com/262...as-cruces-boy’s-death-was-caused-by-swine-flu

The autopsy results were never released, at least not that I could find. No deaths have been reported for NM and on 5/6 there were only two probables for Dona Ana county, both of which were not this child...

You would think they would have been excited to announce negative results. This is a good find and one of the better suspect cases so far.
