Re: FluTrackers Confirmed U.S. Deaths - July 13+

Re: FluTrackers Confirmed U.S. Deaths - July 13+

we've got 9 in San Diego County to CA DPH's 8, plus the death listed in Ventura County, so we are +2 on the official California total: 57

I removed the 64 year old man in Worcester who did not have H1N1, adjusted Massachusetts total down -1

Pennsylvania updated their site today. Now listing 8 deaths.

http://www.health.state.pa.us/H1N1Map/

Pennsylvania is going to be perpetually confusing for us. They are counting that girl from Monterey County who died down in Florida, and we aren't, so we are always going to trail the official PA total by 1. Otherwise, our listings currently match theirs.

My pms are disabled, Appleblossom.

oh .... hmm okay then. Well if you'd like to help out with the tracking you can do anything that appeals to you. If you'd like to adopt a "region" of the U.S. to monitor that would be excellent, we could split it up between us. It is a pretty big job for one person.

By the way, anyone else reading this thread who wants to help, this invitation is for you too!

LaidbackAl has established an online database that will allow all of us to enter case information and then sort it any way we want to, as well as generating summary tables, graphs, etc. We need people to take different states or countries and enter the data, but we need to assign a given state/country to only one person so we don't have duplicate entries. If you're interested, contact Al by PM and he can send you an invitation that will grant you access to the database.

How do I get in on the act, I would do florida, my pms are disabled.

Thank you for the offer but I think that JimO who lives in Florida has that state handled.

Appleblossom - if you can coordinate this effort, that would be great!

I am contacting the company today to hammer down the logistics.

Thank you Laidback Al for obtaining access for us!

Yeesh, this pushes us to 58% with no underlying conditions.

Re: FluTrackers Confirmed U.S. Deaths - July 13+

Re: FluTrackers Confirmed U.S. Deaths - July 13+

Its looking like we might hit 300 deaths in the US today. :( Especially if we get anything from NYC.

I don't expect we'll get an update from NYC. The last update included this caveat.

"No further updates are planned at this time."

http://www.nyc.gov/html/doh/html/cd/cd-h1n1flu-data.shtml

I have been trying to find local reports w/o any luck. To get an accurate count this week we really need updated totals from the city. There were 9 new deaths reported in their last update so I can't believe there have not been any over the last week. Nevertheless, I have not seen any reports from the regular media.

Re: FluTrackers Confirmed U.S. Deaths - July 13+

Re: FluTrackers Confirmed U.S. Deaths - July 13+

The CDC has released their totals for this week. They are reporting lower number than we are as usual, with one exception. The CDC is reporting 24 deaths in Texas and we only show 23.

Overall the CDC is reporting 52 new deaths from 7/10 to 7/17. That is the highest one week increase since the outbreak began.

Matches what I am seeing from the spreadsheet/chart I am keeping. The death rate in the US has apparently increased recently.
