FluTrackers and Your Resume - Curriculum Vitae

sharon sanders

Editor-in-Chief & President
Thank you everyone for participating!

You have made FluTrackers a world leader in our medium.

Some participants have asked if they can list FluTrackers on their resume or curriculum vitae.

Sure! If contacted by an entity we will contact you, and if you give us permission, we will verify your participation, title, years, etc.

It has come to our attention that some people are placing their volunteer participation on FluTrackers under the "employment" category on some online venues.

This is incorrect.

We do not have, and have never had, any paid employees.

Frankly, we would like to be able to pay but we have never raised enough money for this purpose.

In fact, Sally and I personally pay for many expenses of operating FluTrackers. She and her family fund all of the technical support not included in our package from the server company. I pay for any server requirements, travel, communications, bank fees, etc. when the FT bank account becomes depleted.

Please correct your resumes or curriculum vitaes to use the word "participant".

Thanks!

Re: FluTrackers and Your Resume - Curriculum Vitae

This is NOT about you.

Some people have PUBLICLY posted their resumes on the internet and these resumes contain a reference to FluTrackers as "employer".

Re: FluTrackers and Your Resume - Curriculum Vitae

I have been asked to further clarify the situation.

Apparently there is one or more individuals who have publicly posted on the internet their resume fraudulently claiming that they were paid by FluTrackers. It is our belief that this misrepresentation is made to gain funding and/or employment.

The work done here by all of us is a labor of love. We have given up valuable family time and many of us have spent a lot of money for internet service, computer supplies, mileage, etc. etc. to make FluTrackers a leader.

We have done this as volunteers. Not as employees. We encourage everyone to list FluTrackers on their resumes as "participants" or "volunteers". Please use your titles. You have earned them.

Thank you for providing disease and disaster information free to the world.

You have helped many that you will never meet.

I agree.

Thank to Sharon for this additional details.

Friendship is the most valuable thing for most of us, and money will not pay enough to gain a real friend.
