TUCSON, Ariz. - A Tucson charter school will be closed until Monday due to a flu outbreak.

The Pima County Health Department says nearly half of Paulo Freire Freedom School's students and teaching staff is out with swine flu-like illnesses described as mild to moderate.

In all, 33 students and two teachers are affected at the small middle school.

Health officials say the closure begins Wednesday and school doors will reopen on Monday.

The school sent a letter home to parents Tuesday explaining the closure.
