EL PASO - The Department of Public Health says there have been more flu cases in January and February of this year than in years past.
So far the health department reported 357 cases of the flu in January and 302 cases in February. That number exceeds the number of cases they reported during the H1N1 pandemic.
Last year, there were 20 cases in January and 21 in February.
"We are taking these statistics seriously and will be monitoring the number of new cases in our community," said Michael Hill, Health Director, in a statement. "We are hoping to see a decrease once we compile the numbers for March."
