PUEBLO, COLO. -- The number of flu cases in Pueblo has increased significantly, according to health officials.

Those health officials are now warning the public about the dangers of influenza.

There have been a total of 30 people who have been hospitalized since November because of the flu, health officials said.

"Eighteen of the 30 individuals with influenza have been hospitalized with influenza this week and this is very concerning," said Dr. Christine Nevin-Woods, Public Health Director at the Pueblo City-County Health Department. "Most of the individuals did not receive the flu vaccine and many of them are high risk for severe disease and complications such as pneumonia and respiratory distress."
