A 15-year-old traveler to the Miami-Dade and Broward area has been confirmed to have measles, according to the Florida Department of Health.

The traveler, a male, visited attractions and businesses in the area between Jan. 1 and 3 and then left the state on a flight, the Health Department reported Friday evening. It did not say where the traveler came from nor where he departed to...

Tallahassee, Florida -- The Florida Department of Health has confirmed an international traveler had measles while attending a conference in Kissimmee at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center March 16-17.

Florida DOH says the traveler spent time in several central and south Florida counties. Most of the his time was spent in Osceola County. However, he also spent time in Miami-Dade, Orange and Sarasota counties during the infectious period of March 14-20.

He did not visit any theme parks during his visit. He was hospitalized between March 20-24 in Miami and after recovering left Florida by plane on March 25...

A 6-year-old in St. Lucie County has contracted the highly contagious disease.

Florida has logged its first confirmed case of measles in 2015.

News of the confirmation comes out of St. Lucie County on the state?s east coast where a 6-year-old child, who was not vaccinated against the highly contagious disease, has contracted it, the Florida Department of Health reported in a media release. Health department officials there are now working with the county?s school district to inform parents about the confirmed case...

Health Dept: Child with measles was inside Port St Lucie Civic Center while contagious

PORT ST LUCIE -- A State Department of Health Epi-Strike Team is spreading out across the Treasure Coast to try and stop any further spread of the measles.

City leaders announced the little girl that tested positive for measles may have exposed even more people to the virus at the Port St Lucie Civic Center.

The St. Lucie County Health Department and City Manager now confirm the child came to the Civic Center to sign up for summer camp.

It was before the child ever knew she was sick.

The building is now safe for the public, but the child was there at 1:45 p.m. on April 9th in the lobby, while possibly contagious...
