PORT ST. LUCIE ? The medical examiner is trying to find what caused an infection that led to a fatal cardiac arrest in a 7-year-old Port St. Lucie boy Dec. 19.

Lab tests, by two hospitals and the medical examiner, haven?t confirmed what was initially thought: that Ronald Champagne had bacterial meningitis..

...So Mittleman is preparing to ask the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to see if a virus caused an infection that lowered the youth?s blood pressure, leading to a heart attack...
