Measles outbreak in Orange includes four children

Four children from one Orange County family have confirmed cases of measles, the Orange County Health Department reported today.

After health officials identified one child who attended a local daycare center as having measles, investigators found three other children in the home were infectious. The outbreak occurred during the winter holidays when school was out of session...

Seminole County confirms second case of measles

A 39-year-old Seminole County man is the second Central Florida resident within a month to have a confirmed case of measles, county health officials said today.

The man is the husband of a 39-year-old woman who was diagnosed with measles in late February. They have since recovered, said Dain Weister, a health department spokesman.

"His illness was mild," Weister said...

Measles case pops up near Orlando attractions area

One measles case has been confirmed in Orange County, and officials are urging Central Floridians to take caution.

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County identified a visitor from the United Kingdom with signs and symptoms consistent with measles. The visitor, who was not sufficiently vaccinated, had contact with the virus before traveling to more than a dozen businesses in the attractions area of Orange County. The visitor is recovering and will be traveling back home, according to department spokesman Dain Weister.

Officials are urging anyone who has been in the area from July 16 to 22 and has developed a rash-like illness to seek medical care...

...The visitor is the fifth measles case in Orange County this year...
