A man has tested positive for swine flu in the republic of Ireland, health chiefs have confirmed.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said the adult male, who lived in the east of the country, had recently returned home from Mexico.
Health officials stressed Ireland was prepared for a possible outbreak of the virus and had stockpiled enough drugs and masks to tackle any outbreak.
There are six illness cases under investigation in Northern Ireland but none have been confirmed to have the potentially deadly strain.
