First Douglas Co. H1N1 Death
Douglas County is reporting their first death linked to H1N1. According to the Department of Health and Human Services the individual who died did have some type of underlying health condition. Due to patient confidentiality laws they are not releasing the person's identity at this time.
Douglas County Health Officer, Deb Clausen said, "The loss of a loved one for anyone is heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with the family and friends during this difficult time."
Health Officials continue to urge folks to get the H1N1 vaccine if they fall in the state's current target groups:
-Pregnant Women
-Those who care for infants }
-Healthcare personnel
-All people from 6 months through 24 years of age
-Persons 25-64 years of age with conditions associated with higher risk of complications from influenza.
