Swine Flu Suspected in over a Dozen Helsinki Schools
published yesterday 04:51 PM, updated yesterday 05:01 PM
Students at 13 schools in Helsinki are suspected of having caught the H1N1 flu virus. However, so far there have only been a few potential cases at each school.
Helsinki City Epidemiologist Hannele Kotilainen says that officials suspect the children are infected with the virus. However none of the pupils have been tested.
?The reports have come in from 13 schools. However, each school has only three or four cases at most. The pupils were also in different grades,? she adds.
Epidemiologists asked Helsinki schools to inform them if three students in the same grade were thought to have contracted swine flu.
The matter was first reported by the Evangelical Lutheran Church Helsinki Parish Union?s newspaper Kirkko ja kaupunki.
