This is the second time a fake batch of Avastin has been discovered recently. Since Altuzan is illegal in the US, I hope someone is asking why the doctors are buying fake cancer drugs for their patients.
The vials are packaged as Altuzan, the Turkish version of Avastin that is not approved for use in the U.S. The agency says any packages or vials labeled with the lot number B6021 should be considered counterfeit.
... the vials do not contain the active ingredient.
... importing even authentic Altuzan into the U.S. is illegal.
