WEST BEND, Wis. ? A father and his adult daughter who shared a birthday died on the same day down the hall from each other at St. Luke's Hospital nearly two weeks ago.
Influenza is to blame, and the family -- still reeling from the losses -- want people to be aware of how deadly the virus can be as peak season arrives.
"They just had to be together," daughter and sister Carine Krull said. "You don't know when something like influenza is going to track you down and tear your family apart."
Krull was leaving on a trip to Mexico when her sister, Alina Ellis, told her she wasn't feeling well. She never thought it would turn fatal.
