Solano County Reports Its 8th H1N1 Death
Woman In Her 20s Dies Of Flu

Email Print SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. -- Health officials announced Wednesday that a Solano County woman in her 20s has died of the H1N1 flu.

She is the eighth person in that county to die of the H1N1 flu, according to health officials.

The woman's name and city of residence have not been released in order to protect confidentiality.

Solano County health officials said people should still be aware of the spread of H1N1 and to take precautions, such as proper hand-washing.

Various sources, however, told the Times-Herald that the woman lived and worked in Vallejo. She was diagnosed with H1N1 in February and died nearly two weeks ago in another county, sources said.

"The confusion seems to be because of the unusual circumstances with the woman being diagnosed in Solano County but dying in a different county, creating confusion about the hospital's requirement to report the death," Stacey said. "Somebody didn't report back the way they should have. It's unfortunate that we didn't get the information, but we'll talk to everyone involved and make sure they understand the laws that require reporting."
