Estonia COVID-19 - 2,343 cases, 64 deaths

The latest data for Estonia reports eight new infection cases, increasing to 1 766.

62 people in Estonia have died from COVID-19 and 294 people have made a successful recovery.

The latest information for Lithuania reports a total of 1 523 infections, which is an increase of twelve new patients.

The number of deaths in Lithuania caused by complications from the virus has reached 54, whereas the number of recoveries has reached 956.

So far a total of 85 431 tests have been performed in Latvia, according to information from Disease Prevention and Monitoring Centre. Additionally, 19 COVID-19 patients have died in Latvia. 662 people in the country have made a full recovery.

As previously reported, on Thursday, 7 May, the government decided to ease a number of restrictions in relation to COVID-19, also extending the state of emergency until 9 June.

Residents are urged to organize work from home where possible, go shopping less often and avoid crowded places.

The state of emergency in Estonia is active until 17 May, and in Lithuania – until 31 May.

Over the last 24-hour period no new COVID-19 linked death cases were reported. In total, the coronavirus has caused the deaths of 69 persons in Estonia. 383 people have been discharged.

To date, 1,758 persons have recovered from the disease.

A total of 102,487 first time tests have been carried out in Estonia, of which 1,981 (1.9 percent) have been positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
