Epidemic fears in the flood affected areas of Orissa's Jajpur

Jajpur: With floods water started receding about seven lakh people of in Jajpur district fear of an epidemic outbreak looming large over the flood-affected villages .
The riverside villages that got devastated by heavy downpour and deluge last week is now facing serious outbreak of leptospirosis and dengue.
Rabindra Mallick (14) of village Bari was suffering from fever since last three days On Saturday he was shifted to government hospital at Jajpur after he was rescued by a boat At least two thousand persons including many children of flood affected villages were affected with the suspected leptospirosis and dengue in the past two days. The number of persons admitted to various hospitals that was 190 on Saturday , more than doubled [from] 80 on last Sunday.
